
2. the Ctrl key
Ctrl stands for "control". Shortcuts that start with "Ctrl+" means that you hold down the CTRL key while you type the letter indicated after the + sign. For example, save your file by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking on S.

I usually use my pinky on my left hand to hold down the Ctrl key while I type the letter key with my index finger on the same hand.
