Assignment #16
Photoshop Project 1
Due Date: November 2
Instructions
Edit a photograph in Photoshop using the tools you learned so far.
- GET SET UP
- Create a new folder in your username folder called "Lastname Project 1". (Be sure to replace "Lastname" with your actual last name.)
- Save a large digital photograph in your "Lastname Project 1" folder.
- Open the photograph in Photoshop.
- CREATE A NEW VERSION
Save the image with a new name so you still have the original.- Go to File > Save As...
- Rename the file so it says "edit" at the end. For example, "IMG_0025.jpg" would become "IMG_0025edit.jpg".
- Save this "edit" version into your "Lastname Project 1" folder.
- EXPERIMENT!
- Edit the "edit" image however you wish.
- I must at least a correction in light levels or color.
- I'd like you try a good handful of experiments.
- For inspiration, take a look at PhotoshopTalent.com or Worth1000.com.
- MAKE A RECORD
- Open Notepad (Start > Notepad, or open it from your desktop.) Save the new, untitled text file as "process.txt" in your "Lastname Project 1".
- In "process.txt", record what you did in Photoshop to the original image to achieve the results you did.
- Go ahead and also write in what you tried but undid, so I can see some evidence of your experimentation.
- Keep recording your progress as you go, so you don't have to try to remember it all at the end.
- TURN IT IN
Turn in the entire "Lastname Project 1" folder into the "Project 1" folder in the Inbox. I should see the following in your "Lastname Project 1" folder:- the original image
- the edited image (5 points)
- "process.txt" (5 points)
