- Open the photograph in Photoshop.
- CREATE A NEW VERSION & GO B&W
Save the image with a new name so you still have the original.- Go to File > Save As...
- Rename the file so it says "edit" at the end. For example, "IMG_0025.jpg" would become "IMG_0025edit.jpg".
- Save this "edit" version into your "Lastname Project 4" folder.
- Turn the photo into black and white: Image > Adjustments > Desaturate
- COLORIZE!
- Create a new layer. Name it "color" (Double-click on the words "Layer 1" to change the layer name).
- Change the Blending Mode for the layer to Color.

- Change the foreground color using the Color Picker (click on the Foreground Color square at the bottom of the Tool Bar) or using the Swatches Palette.

- Choose the Brush Tool, and adjust its size and hardness in the Options Bar.

- Paint on the "color" layer.

- Switch colors and keep painting in different areas.
- If you prefer, you can put different paint colors on different layers. This makes it easier to erase parts of certain colors (Eraser Tool.)

- TURN IT IN
Turn in the entire "Lastname Project 4" folder into the "Project 4" folder in the Inbox. I should see the following in your "Lastname Project 4" folder:- the original image
