Correcting Color Balance

• We need variations in luminosity to see. That is, we need the changes between light and dark to identify what something is.
• Color contributes much less information about an object than luminosity does.
• In Photoshop, color takes on more importance. Some color terms are very important to understand:
  • Hue is the core color: red, yellow, green, and so on.
  • Saturation is the intensity or vibrancy of a color.
• The correct saturation amount depends on the photograph; some images are naturally more saturated while some are less saturated.
