Lesson 03a: Key Points
Correcting Color Balance
- We need variations in luminosity to see. That is, we need the changes between light and dark to identify what something is.
- Color contributes much less information about an object than luminosity does.
- In Photoshop, color takes on more importance. Some color terms are very important to understand:
- Hue is the core color: red, yellow, green, and so on.
- Saturation is the intensity or vibrancy of a color.
- The correct saturation amount depends on the photograph; some images are naturally more saturated while some are less saturated.
