Lesson 03b: Key Points
Variations
- Color cast is a malady in which one color pervades an image to an unrealistic or undesirable degree.
- Variations may be Photoshop's most straight-forward color adjustment command.
- Variations provides you with an array of thumbnail previews.
- Your job is to pick the thumbnail preview that looks better than the Current Pick.
- Clicking more of one color is the same as clicking less of the opposite (complementary) color.
- The amount of change that occurs when you click can be altered by moving the slider toward Fine or Course.
- Click the Highlights radio button to affect only the highlights in an image.
- Click the Shadows radio button to affect only the shadows in an image.
- On the right you can click for a lighter or darker image.
- Click on the Saturation radio button to choose more or less saturation.
- Variations can be found in the Images > Adjustments menu.
