Instructions

Colorize a photograph in Photoshop.

1. GET SET UP
   1. Create a new folder in your username folder called "Lastname Project 5". (Be sure to replace "Lastname" with your actual last name.)
   2. Save two large digital photographs in your "Lastname Project 5" folder.
   3. Open the photographs in Photoshop.
2. SELECT PART OF ONE
   Use your favorite selection tool, or a combination, to select part of one photo.
3. ADD TO THE SECOND PHOTO
   Drag your selection from the first photo into the second photo. Save the second image as a Photoshop file.
4. ADD A LAYER STYLE TO THE TOP LAYER
   Click on the fx button on the bottom of the Layers palette. Select a layer style and change the setting to please you. Save frequently!
5. MAKE ADDITIONAL ARTISTIC CHANGES
   Try a few additional techniques to polish your image. Save frequently!
6. TURN IT IN
   Turn in the entire "Lastname Project 5" folder into the "Project 5" folder in the Inbox. I should see the following in your "Lastname Project 5" folder:
   1. the two original images
   2. the layered Photoshop file
