Dreamweaver 05 : Designing with Tables

Due April 17

Get Set Up

  1. Copy the Lesson_05_Tables folder (inside the DWMX2004_Project folder) from the Outbox.
  2. Paste it into your DWMX2004_Project folder.
  3. Rename it lastname_Lesson_05_Tables, where lastname is your actual last name.

In the lastname_Lesson_05_Tables folder, you will now find:

  1. lesson05.pdf - the tutorial instructions
  2. an Images folder and a Text folder
  3. lodging.htm

 

Exercises

  1. Read pages 142-193 of the Lesson.
  2. Complete all the exercises.
  3. Your final lodging.htm page should look like the image below.

  1. I will be checking for these completed tasks in your lodging.htm page:
    1. a table is inserted under the paragraph, with six columns and a caption which reads: "Staying at a Lighthouse: Accomodation Information"
    2. a summary for the table which says: "Accomodation information for a variety of lighthouses. Each entry includes the lighthouse name, its location, prie per night, contact information, the availability and whether the lens is operational."
    3. headings for each column which read: Name, Location, Price, Phone, Availaibility, Lens
    4. alternating lavender-colored backgrounds for the column headings
    5. twelve rows of data, sorted alphabetically
    6. alternate white and blue backgrounds for the rows
    7. the Lens column is aligned to the right
    8. there is a blank row of merged cells between the headings and the first row of data
    9. there are two rows of merged cells at the bottom of the table; the first is blank and the second says, "©2003, Lights of the Coast"
    10. the table is 650 pixels wide
  2. Your final export_lodging.txt page should look like the image below.

Turn in Your Files

  1. In My Documents, navigate down into your root folder and then into the DWMX2004_Project folder.
  2. Right-click on the lastname_Lesson_05_Tables folder and select Copy.
  3. Navigate to the Inbox and then into the DWMX2004_Project folder.
  4. Right-click on the Lesson_05_Tables folder and select Paste.

Take notes on the topics listed in the green panel on the left. Notes are due on the upcoming Friday.
