Evaluating the Accuracy of Web Pages
- Who wrote the page and can you contact him or her? Make sure author provides e-mail or a contact address/phone number.
- What is the purpose of the page and why was it produced?
- Is this person qualified to write this page?
- Know the distinction between author and Webmaster.
- Are there links to other sites on the subject?
- Can you check the accuracy of the information or data somewhere else? Newspaper reporters customarily verify leads with a second source. You should do likewise.
